Dr. Valeria Piacentini Fiorani, a professor of history and institutions of the Islamic world at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Catholic University, Milan, Italy, visited the Sindh Archives. She received a warm welcome from the Director of Archives – S.M. Mehdi Shah, Director provided her with detailed information about the history of the Sindh Archives and the procedure for preserving the archival records maintained by the archives department. Dr. Fiorani expressed her gratitude at seeing how the records are being preserved, as well as the methods of conservation and digitization being employed. At the conclusion on her visit, Director S.M. Mehdi Shah presented Dr. Fiorani with a traditional Sindhi ajrak and a publication from the Sindh Archives as a token of gift.
