A training program titled “Preservation of Manuscripts” is being conducted in Lahore under the auspices of TIKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency). The first session of this training was held in Istanbul, Turkey and now the continuation of this program is taking place in Lahore. S. M. Mehdi Shah, the Director of Sindh Archives, has nominated two qualified staff members to participate in this training with the aim of enhancing their skills.
The objective of this training is to improve the work of the department’s main section, the Conservation Laboratory and to boost the efficiency of the staff. The program will not only provide training but will also explore how to implement new techniques and methodologies to enhance their work. This initiative aims to strengthen the capability of Sindh Archives in the field of manuscript preservation, thereby aiding in the protection of their Rare Records.
