Mr. Ghulam Abbas Naich from The Member (RS & EP) Wing of the Board of Revenue Sindh, along with Mr. Ghulam Qadir Talpur – IGR and Mr. Saleemuddin Memon – District Registrar Karachi visited the Sindh Archives. Syed Tanveer Abbas Zaidi, Assistant Director and Mr. Akash Datwani, Archivist of Sindh Archives, welcomed and briefed about Sindh Archives and overview conservation, and digitization of rare and valuable source of material by using modern techniques. He was also interested in digitization and preserving records for his department to gather all information on the complete process. His dedication to meticulous record keeping ensures that valuable data is readily available for analysis and future reference. His proactive approach to documentation not only streamlines workflows but also enhances the overall efficiency of his department. With a keen eye for detail, he meticulously organizes data in a structured manner, making it easier to retrieve important information whenever needed. He visited the Conservation Laboratory, Stack Area, Photo Gallery, IT Section, Library Section and Binding Section. Mr. Muhammad Yousuf Khan (Senior Research Officer), Mr. Akash Datwani (Archivist), Mr. Abid Baloch (Senior Computer Operator), Mr. Muhammad Farooq (Technical Assistant), Mr. Hassan Jamil Abbasi (Microfilming Assistant/Library Incharge) and Mr. Arsalan Farooq Shaikh (System Administrator) gave details about their sections. He shared his views with the authorities and termed Sindh Archives, it collection and administration as wonderful. He said that Sindh Province has set a good term of enriching and organizing their learned bodies and Sindh Archives an excellent example and shared his feedback in the Visitorโs Book. Additionally, was given a souvenir and publications as a token of appreciation.
