Miss. Zehra Sabri from Habib University, Karachi and Mr. Sher Ali Tareen, Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, New Jersey, USA visited the Sindh Archives Department, where they were warmly welcomed by Mr. S.M Mehdi Shah, the Director of Archives, along with his dedicated team. During their visit, they were given a comprehensive tour of various sections, including the Conservation Laboratory, Newseum Gallery, and Stack Area. The Director detailed the innovative conservation and digitization efforts undertaken by the department, showcasing how these initiatives are preserving invaluable historical records for future generations. Miss. Zehra Sabri and Mr. Sher Ali Tareen were particularly impressed with the meticulous work being done in the Conservation Laboratory to restore and maintain fragile documents, as well as the engaging exhibitions in the Newseum Gallery that highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Sindh. They also explored the Stack Area, where the thoughtful organization and easy accessibility of records were evident.
