A esteemed members from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Pakistan, comprising Miss Kylie Gilchrist, Lecturer, and Miss Zoya Sameen, Assistant Professor, from The Aga Khan University, visited the Sindh Archives. The Director of Sindh Archives, Syed Muhammad Mehdi Shah, along with Mr. Akash Datwani β Archivist, Mr. Arsalan Shaikh β System Administrator, Mr. Hassan Jamil Abbasi β Microfilming Assistant and Mr. Muhammad Farooq – Technical Assistant, warmly welcomed them and provided a comprehensive overview of the Sindh Archives Department’s practices and methods. The delegation was guided through the technical processes employed during the archival process and were briefed on the latest techniques used for conservation and digitization of rare and valuable materials. Additionally, they had the opportunity to tour various sections of the archives, including the Conservation Laboratory, Exhibition Gallery, Stack Area, IT Section, and Library. This visit provided a valuable insight into the Sindh Archives’ efforts to preserve and make accessible historical records for future generations.
